Oblates–men AND women united in prayer
Many people confide in the monks at Stift Neuburg for religious guidance, to be strengthened in faith and receive advice on questions of everyday life. Some, however, are looking for more: the Benedictine life and experience.
In order to seek God in everyday life, they have joined the community of the Neuburg oblates. The oblates, both men and women, give their support to the monastic community by choosing to recite parts of the Liturgy of the Hours. They meet regularly at the abbey to promote their spiritual advancement and exchange thoughts and ideas.
In this way they follow the call of St. Benedict, addressed to all who seek God: „Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts,
and incline the ear of your heart.
Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice (…).
To you, therefore, my words are now addressed, whoever you may be (…): And first of all, whatever good work you begin to do, beg of Him with most earnest prayer to perfect it.”
